Great Migration Study Project, Immigrants to NE 1634-35: Origin: Unknown. Migration: 1635 on the Elizabeth and Ann (on 9 May 1635, "W[illia]m Hilliard," aged 21, carpenter, was enrolled at London as a passenger for New England on the Elizabeth & Ann [Hotten 77]). First Residence: Plymouth. Removes: Duxbury 1639.  Occupation: Carpenter (on 5 March 1638/9, "Will[ia[m Hiller, of Plym[outh], carpenter," posted bond for his later appearance in court [PCR 1:119]).  Miller (on 7 Nov 1639, it is "covenanted and agreed of between Georg Pollard late inhabitant of the town of Stokeclere in the Realm of England, yeoman, and Will[ia]m Hiller of the town of New Plym[outh], carpenter, of the one part and the inhabitants of the town of Duxborrow of the other part in manner following, to wit the said George Pollard and Will[ia]m Hiller is at their own proper cost and charges to build, frame and set up one sufficient water mill to grind corn on both English & Indian, within the term of one whole year after the date hereof" [PCR 12:72-73, 74, 85-86]; on 6 Ar 1640, 5 May 1640 and 6 July 1640, Plymouth Court issued orders facilitating the building of the mill [PCR 1:145, 152, 158]; on 10 Nov 1646, "William Hillier of Duxburie, carpenter," sold to "Constante Southworth of Duxburie, planter, all that right and title which he hath unto the mill at Duxburie standing upon Stony River being in partnership between him and Georg Pollerd late of Duxbury aforesaid, that is to say the one half thereof," and also "his house & lands and all the appurtenances" [PCR 12:139-49]. Nov 16 1691 he took a second w whose chris name was Frances. John d 27 Jan 1715-16 ahr 76 yrs. In his will of 10 Feb 1708-9 proved 9 Apr 1716 mentions w Frances and seven ch: two namely Hannah and William having d before him. His will of 10 Feb. 1708, pro. 9 Apr. 1716, names w. Frances, and seven of his ch. all exc. Hannah, and William, wh. were d. gr.ch. Mary Josselyn, d. of Hannah, and Patience, d. of William. NATHAN, Hingham, br. of the preced. m. 5 Dec. 1683, Mary Garnett, had Francis, b. 16 Dec. 1684; Christian, 13 Oct. 1686; Jonathan, 20 June 1689; Benjamin, 1692; Nathan, 29 Apr. 1695; and his w. d. 27 Feb. 1710. He had ano. w. 23 Mar. 1711, Joanna, wid. of Thomas Whiton, wh. was d. of Samuel May of Roxbury, and had been wid. of Francis Gardner of H. and d. 18 Oct. 1715. His will of 7 Oct. 1715, pro. 14 Oct. 1718, names w. and all the ch. It is thot. by some, that this is the same with Farrar, but I do not incline to that opin. while owning that often the spel. of the names is interchang. 

Who Beget Thee? HILLIARD William Hilliard An early resident of Boston and subsequently of Hingham with wife Esther. He had three children .William, Esther and Mary baptized by the Rev P Hobart at Hingham Feb 25 1655. Esther Hilliard 1642 1709 Daughter of William Born in Boston March 25 1642 Married Jan 9 1658 Joseph Bates. Died June 3 1709 .
