The Essex Antiquarian: John Brown, glazier, lived in Newbury 1659-1662 in Ipswich 1663 1686. He bought house barn and land on High street in Ipswich Jan 15 1663 4; married Mary Woodman Feb 20 1659 60 Newbury and she was his wife in 1676. Judith born Dec 3 1660 Zachary Davis Feb 4 1680 in Newbury;  Mary born March 8 1661 2 in married William Partridg Dec 1680 in Newbury Hannah born November 13 1676 in Ipswich Records 

Oulde Newbury: 2 21 Oct 26 1659 Nicholas Wallington of Newbury conveyed to John Browne of Newbury house and four acres of land lately purchased of the executrix of Henry Travers described as above Ipswich Deeds book 2 leaf 13 24. Nov 7 1660 John Browne of Newbury glazier sold to Henry Sewall of Newbury gentleman house and four acres of land in Newbury formerly owned by Henry Travers bounded with the streets on the south and east the land of Richard Browne on the west and Tristram Coffin's land on y north also shop and new shop lately built and floored etc Ipswich Deeds book 2 page 16 28

1 John Cutting Captain and Mr of Charlestown and Newbury ship master married MABY Coffin in his History of Newbury states that he was from London He made several voyages to England and brought many passengers to this country removed from Charlestown to Newbury about 1642 but Wyman states that he bought land in Charlestown in 1648 f He was one of the eight commissioners all entitled to the prefix Mr who were appointed by the town of Newbury in 1642 for removing from Parker river to Merrimac river and previous to 1645 he received a grant from the town of Newbury of a farm of 200 acres He died Nov 20 1659 Nb His will was dated Oct 22 1659 and probated March 27 16604 Widow Mary married Mr JOHN MILLER and died Mar 6 1663 4 Nb will dated Nov 26 1663 probated Mar 29 1664 called a widow then Children 2 A SON JOHN9 b probably before 1620 m before 1641 A dau Mary b before 1642 m 1st NOY 30 1657 Nb Samuel Moody Wm of Sb id June 24 1679 NT Daniel Lnnt She named a son Cutting Moody A Mary Catting was admitted to the Chartestown church March 21 1652 W Ch perhaps either she or her grandmother her mother's name is not known 8 JUDITH b m about 1637 1 James Browne d about 1650 4 MABY b m about 1640 Nicholas Xoyes of Nb They named a son Cutting Noyes 5 SABAH b about 1629 m 1st 1 James Browne 2d Nov 29 1677 William Healy sen of Cambridge perhaps 3d Dec 3 1685 Hugh March sen of Nb 

A Sketch of Newbury: CUTTING CAPT JOHN from London settled in Charlestown thence to Newbury about 1642 He d 20 Nov 1659.  His widow Mary Miller d 6 March 1663 Ch Sarah wife of James Brown and Mary wife of Samuel Moody
