Benjamin James Jr. (1744-1797), the son of Benjamin and Marcy James, married Sarah Holmes, the daughter of Thomas and Lydia (White--she was the granddaughter of Peregrine White) Holmes in 1771, and they had six children. He was on the selectmen's Tory list in 1771, but he gave satisfaction and was removed. Welch "Scituate Families," vol 82.

Elisha was born April 29th, 1786 on Friday. He married 7/23/1702, Susanna, daughter of John Smith. In 1728 he was chosen constable of the town, then an office of importance. He died 5/5/1747. Children: Susanna born 4/22/1703 married Joseph Sanborn died 1/1/1761. Edmund born 11/22/1704 married Priscilla _____; died ab. 1735 or 36. During a visit at Hampton he was taken with smallpox and died at Bride Hill.
