Mayflower Families Through 5 Generations Vol. XVIII Richard Warren: pg 1 Gov. Bradford wrote "Mr. Richard Warren lived some 4 or 5 years & had his wife come over to him, by whom he had two sons before [he] died, and one of them is married & hath 2 children. So his increase is 4. But he had 5 daughters more come over with his wife, who are all married and living, and have many children." The wife & 5 daughters came to Plymouth on the Anne in 1623. /p/ In "Mourt's Relation" under date of "sixt of December" it is stated "and 3 of London, Richard Warren, Steeven Hopkins & Edward Dotte..." This state that he was from London is all we know about the origin of Richard Warren despite considerable research to learn more. (See MQ 51:109-112). /p/ The 5/22/1627 Division of Cattle names Richard Warren, wife Elizabeth Warren, Nathaniell Warren, Joseph Warren, Mary Warren, Anna Warren, Sara Warren, Elizabeth Warren & Abigail Warren. /p/ In a deed dated 9/28/1629 the land which Thomas Clarke sold to William Bradford was bounded on one side by the land of "widow Warren." /p/ At the 3/7/1636-7 court it was agreed that Elizabeth Warren, widow, the relict of Mr. Richard Warren, deceased, was to be a "Purchaser" as she had performed the bargain after her husband's decease, and also for confirming the land formerly given by her to her son-in-law Richard Church, Robert Bartlett and Thomas Little in marriage with their wives, her daughters. /p/ In a codicil to his will dated 7/16/1667 Nathaniel Warren mentions his mother Elizabeth Warren, his brother Joseph Warren and his sisters Mary Bartlett Sr., Anna Little, Sarah Cooke, Elizabeth Church and Abigail Snow. /p/ On 3/4/1673-4 Mary Bartlett, the wife of Robert Bartlett, ack. she had received full satisfaction for her share of the estate of Mistris Elizabeth Warren, deceased; and John Cooke in behalf of all her sisters testified to the same. The court settled the remainder of the estate on Joseph Warren. pg 3 ...perhaps the son of Robert & Alice (Barker) Bartlett. /p/ Robert Bartlett arrived on the Anne in 1623 and received 1 acre in the 1623 Division of Land. He was unmarried in the 1627 Division of Cattle. He was in the 1633 list of Freemen. /p/ On 7/1/1633 Mrs. Warren and Robt. Bartlet were to mow where they did last year, implying a marriage to Mary by 1632 or earlier.

Gen Register of Plymouth Families, pg 272-3: Warren, Richard, son of Christopher came in the Mayflower 1620. His wife who was widow Elizabeth (Jouatt) Marsh, came in the Ann in 1623 with 5 daughters. Mary m Robert Bartlett 1628; Ann m Thomas Little 1633; Sarah m John Cooke, Jr. 1634; Elizabeth m Richard Church 1636; Abigail m Anthony Snow 1639. Two sons Nathaniel & Joseph were born in Plymouth. Nathaniel m Sarah Walker 1645. Joseph m Priscilla d of John Faunce c 1651.

Gen Reg 1st Settlers of NE: WARREN, RICHARD, one of the first pilgrims at Plymouth 1620, d 1628. Elizabeth his widow d 1673 aged a 90.

Pioneers of MA 480: Warren/Warrin, Richard, of London, came in the Mayflower; signed the Compact; settled at Plymouth; "an useful instrument; bore a deep share in the difficulties and troubles of the settlement." [Mor.] His wife and children came in the Anne in 1623. In the division of cattle in 1627 shares were given to him, to his wife Elizabeth, and to ch. Nathaniel, Joseph, Mary, Anna, Sarah, Elizabeth and Abigail. /P/ He d. before 1628. His widow Elizabeth d. 10/2/1673, ae. about 90. Mary m. Robert Bartlett, Elizabeth m. Richard Church, Ann m. Thomas Little, Sarah m. John Cooke, Jr., and Abigail m. Anthony Snow. [See Reg. VII, 177, and Plym. Col. Recs.]

Geanological History of ME: Richard Warren, merchant of London but not one of the Pilgrims who went to Leyden, Holland, came to Plymouth in the Mayflower in 1620 and died in 1628. He married before coming to America Elizabeth March, widow whose maiden name was Juat or Pratt. She and their 5 daughters came to Plymouth in the third ship 1623. After the death of her husband Mrs. Warren joined with the first purchasers of Dartmouth. She died 10/2/1673 aged 90 years. Their children were: Mary, Anne, Sarah, Elizabeth, Abigail, Nathaniel and Joseph. The daughters all married active men of the colony.
