RICHARD GLIDDEN 1727 EXETER. In the name of God Amen I Richard Gledden of Exeter in New hamshire in New England Being Weak of body. Item 1 I Give unto my son Andrew Gledden five shillings he having received his portion allready. Item 2 I Give unto my son Joseph Gledden five shilling he having Allso Received his portion Allready. Item 3 I Give unto my Grand Chilldren the children of my son Charles Gledden decesd five shillings their father having received his portion in his Life time. Item 4 I Give unto my son Richard Gledden the one half of my home place and half of the priveledge therto belonging he paying the debt which I owe unto Docter Serjant. Item 5 I Give unto my two sons Benjamin Gleden and Jonathan Gledden the fifty acres of Land that was alloted me in the town commons to be Equaly Divied between them but If that act should again be broake and they have it not then my will is that they have teen pounds each of them out of my home place. Item 6 My will Is that my son Josiah have a Comfortable maintainance ont of my Estate During his Life time. Item 7 I Give unto my son John Gledden the other half of my home place, he paying his three sisters their portions hereafter mentioned. Item 8 I Give unto my three Dauters Susana woodman, Sarah Gledden & Elisabeth Gledden to Each of them teen pounds to be paid within two years after their mothers Deceace. Item 9 I Give unto my well beloved wife Sarah Gledden all my moveable Estate to be at her Disposal for ever and I Allso Give unto her, my well beloved wife, the use of all my Lands During her Life time and I do by These presents ordain Constituet and appoint My well beloved Son Richard Gledden to be the sole Executor of this my Last will and testamant hereby revoking and Disanulling all former or other wills and testaments by me heretofore maid In testimony wherof I have hereunto set my hand and Seall this Eighteenth day of October in the first year of the reign of our Soveraign Lord king George the second Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty seven. Suffolk Deeds: This Indenture made the foweteenth day of July in the yeare of our lord one thowsand six hundred fiuety six betweene Sampson Shore of Boston in New England Taylor of the one part & Samtt Adams of Charles Townes mrehant on the other part Witnesseth that the said Sampson Shore for & in Consideraeon of one hundred pounds in hand paid by the said Sam Adams the reeeipt whereof the said Sampson Shore doth by these prsents aeknowledge hath giuen graunted bargained sold enfeoffed & eonfirmed & by these priits doe giue graunt bargaine sell & eonfirme vnto the said Samc Adanis all that tenem or house in Boston aforesaid wherein he the said Sampson Shore doth now jnhabit & dwell with the land therevnto belonging neere adjoyning to the Cove & neere the Cunduit in Cunduit street the said Land being in breadth thirty foote from the Late Major Generall Edward Gibbons his warehouse & bounded on the west with the said warehouse the said land with the said house front next the streele towards the North the Cove on the south the land of John Low on the west eontajneing thirty foote in Breadth vnto the water side at the doeke together with the liberty & priviledge of water at the well or Conduit aforesaid to & for the said Samc Addams his assigne or assignes that shall hereafter be the possessoTM or enjoyTM of the said house he & they paying yearely rent for the said priviledge as others doe for theire seQall Sheares thereof w h said house the said Sampson Shore ereeted & built & the said ground he the said Shore purehased of John Low Late of Boston Wheelwright To haue & to hold the said house & Land & all other the prmisses before in & by these prnts bargained & sold with theire appuror3 to the said Samc Addams his heires & assignes to the only pper vse & behoofe of the said Samc Addams his heires & assignes for euer And the said Sampson Shore for himselfe his heires Ex eeutoTM & AdmTM doth Covenant & graunt to & with the said Samc Addams his heires & assignes by these priits that he the 285 the said Sampson Shore the day of the date of these p nts was seised of a good estate in fee simple & had in himselfe good right & full power to bargaine sell giue & graunt the said house & Land with the appur s in mannr & forme aforesaid & that the said Sam Addams his heires & assignes shall & may forefii hereafter peaeeably & quietly haue hold & enjoy all & singuler the before bargained prmisses with the appuPTM free & eleere & elearely aequitted & diseharged or otherwise suffieiently saued defended & kept harmelesse of & fro all former & other bargaines sales guifts graunts & all other aets & jneumbranees of what kinde soeQ done or suffered by the said Sampson Shore his heires or assignes or any othr pson or psons elaymeing vnder him them or any of them And in ease of the non pformanee of the Condieon here after expressed Abigall the wife of the said Sampson Shore doth fully & freely giue graunt & yield vp by these prnts all hir right title dowre & jnterest of & into the said prmisses vnto the said Sam his heires & assignes foreuer Provided alwayes & it is Spetially eonditioned eoneluded & agreed vpon by & beiweene the said pties to these priits That if the said Sampson Shore his heires or assignes doe well & truely pay or eause to be payd to the said Samc Addams his exeeutoTM or adminis tratoTM the sume of one hundred pounds sterling at or before tho end & expiration of twelue moneths next ensueing after tho date hereof without fraud or eoven then & from thenee forth this prsent deed & sale of the prmisses shalbe vtterly voyd frustrated & of none effeet to all jntents & purposes & then also the said Samc Addams his heires or assignes shall & will deliuer vp to the said Sampson Shore his heires & assignes all sneh deedes Euidenees & assuranees as are or shal bo deliQed into his or theire Custody touehing or eoneerning the prmisses In witnes whereof the said Sampson Shore And Abigail his wife hath herevnto putt theire hands & seales the fourteenth day of July in the yeare of our lord one thousand Slxe hundred fifty & Sixe Signed sealed & deliiled in the prsenee of Joshua Seottow Post Seript Isaaek Woodd It is also furthr agreed by & be tweene y sd pties to these priits y vntill y sd Sampson Shore his heires or assignes make default in pay m of y said sum he y said Sampson Shore his heires & assignes shall & may take & roeeiuo y issues & pfitts of y aforesd bargained prmisses to his & yr vse & behoofe Sampson Shore & a seale 286 This jnstrum aboue written is Abigall Shore ai snowledged by Sampson Shore to be & a seale his aet & deed the 21th day of y Vh moth 1K56 before me Jo Endeeott Entered & Reeorded this 21th July 1656 abt 2 in y9 after noone Edw Rawson Recorder

Know Yee that I the sd Sampson Shore for and in consideration of the sume of five pounds & ten Shillings of LawfulI mony of New England to me in hand at & before the Ensealing & delivery of these presents by George Heskit of Boston aforesd Marrinr well and truly paid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and my Selfe therewith fully satisfied and contented and thereof and of every part thereof do acquit and discharge the sd George Heskit his Execrs & admrs for ever by these presents Have given granted bargained Sold aliened enfeoffed & confirmed And by these presents doe fully clearely and absolutely give grant bargain Sell alien Enfeoffe & confirme unto the sd George Heskit his heires & assignes for ever all that peece or parcell of Land beach or fflatts of mine Lying neere Winnisimett fferry place in Boston aforesd being butted & bounded on the westerly side by the Land of the sd George Heskit Northerly by the Sea Easterly by the Land of me the sd Sampson Shore and on the Southerly end by an highway that Leads from the North Battery in Boston towards Charlestown ferry place and measureth at the sd Southerly end or highway five foot in breadth and so rangeth down from the sd highway to Low water marke keeping the sd breadth throughout the whole Length Together with all profits priviledges Easements and appurtenances to the same belonging or [267] in any wise appertaining To Have and to hold the sd parcell of Land butted and bounded as aforesd with all and every the rights members and appurtenances to the same belonging unto the said George Heskit his heires Execrs admrs and assignes and to his & theire own sole and proper use & behoofe for ever. And I the sd Sampson Shore for me my heires Execrs and adm do covenant promiss and grant by these presents that at the time of the Ensealing here of I am the true sole & Lawfull owner of all the afore bargained premisses and am lawfully Seized of and in the same in my own proper Right And that I have in my Selfe full power good right and Law full authority to grant Sell convay & assure the same unto the sd George Heskit his heires & assignes as a good perfect & absolute Estate of inheritance in fee simple without any condition reversion or Limitation whatsoever so as to alter change defeate or make Void the same And that the sd George Heskit his Execrs admrs and assignes shall and may by force and vertue of these presents from time to time & at all times for ever hereafter Lawfully peaceably & quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the above granted premisses with theire appurtenances free and cleare and clearly acquitted & discharged of & from all and all manner of former & other gifts grants bargains Sales Leases mortgages jointures dowres judgements Executions Entailes forfitures and of and from all other titles troubles and incumbrances whatsoever And Abigail the wife of me the sd Sampson Shore doth by these presents freely fully and absolutely give yeild up and surrender all her right title dower and interest which Shee had hath might or should have had of in or to the abovementioned premisses or any part thereof unto the sd George Heskit his heires Exec admrs and assignes for ever And that wee the sd Sampson Shore and Abigail his wife shall and wilbee ready & willing at all time and times to give and will give unto the sd George Heskit his heires & assignes such farther and ample assurance of all the aforebargained premisses as in Law or equity can bee desired or Required In Witness whereof wee the sd Sampson Shore and Abigail his wife have hereunto Set our hands & Seales the fourteenth day of April in the yeare of our Lord One thousand Six hundred Seventy and four Annoq Regni Regis Car.
